Hobo Art Designs » About

Hobo Art Designs creates artisan jewelry of kiln-fired glass paired with bench worked sterling and copper to express your style with heat and color. Sandy also utilizes the ancient method of lost wax casting to forge pieces in ancient bronze, yellow bronze and sterling.

Creating jewelry as art

to reflect the light

in your heart!

Sandy’s creative journey of making unique jewelry art pieces began as an only child who spent many hours expressing her creative spirit with sewing, knitting, macrame, painting, cooking, and repurposing furniture. One year all of her friends received a knit poncho for Christmas on her social worker’s salary.

Sandy’s early 1900s Hobo House (a combination of Hondo, New Mexico, and Boho) in Fredericksburg, Texas, includes her eclectic home, a B&B decorated with her art, a greenhouse, a garden, and her studio.

A studio with a creative history.

The Hobo Art Studio originally belonged to the town blacksmith, William Remmler.  While working in the studio, Sandy channels Remmler’s forging and metalsmithing skills and history.

Each piece of jewelry is handcrafted by Sandy (no factory or piecework) by kiln work, metal forging, bench fabrication, or lost wax casting.

No piece is alike because each piece of jewelry is inspired by the moment and matrials.
